Thanks Mom

My name is Cory Hall. I am an author, father, brother and son. As a son, Cory has always been told by his mother that she wanted her roses while she was alive, so that she could smell them. To honor his mother’s request, Mr. Hall wrote “Thanks Mom”. This book is about Cory Hall attending Marine Core Book camp, which happened to be the most difficult, both physically and mentally adventure Cory has set out on since graduating Thomas Jefferson High school in Richmond, VA on June 10, 1991. As Cory encountered these real life obstacles mixed with critical decision making, the one common thing that came to his mind was just how thankful he was for how his mother had raised him. He began to understand and appreciate his mother’s sacrifice for not only him and his sister but also for herself. He began to find value in all the times his mother made him go to church and made him be a part of the usher board, and reading the church announcements and singing in the choir. Thanks Mom not only gives Cory an opportunity to honor his mother but to hopefully help to encourage that next son or daughter to take the time out to say Thanks.
